On Tuesday a team of 39 came to lend us a hand from Lex Autolease who are part of Lloyds Banking group. We set the team several hard challenges with the hope that they would make a start on them for us. Well they completely smashed our goals and finished all the projects we set them!
The arena fencing has looked more and more tipsy over the past 6 months and so a team set to work getting the old posts out and setting some new ones in place. Many of the old posts were heavily concreted into place and so it took a lot of digging to get them out!
Also towards the end of the farm another group lent us a hand in the veg beds to help us keep on top of all those pesky weeds that like our homemade compost so much!
At the top of the farm our log store received another huge top up of logs which will now dry out nicely to use in the winter to heat Berrys Cafe.
At the back of the poly tunnels there was another extreme makeover taking place to transform a new work area for the horticulture team. There was a huge amount of gravel to be moved here as well as soak aways put in at the end of the poly tunnels to improve drainage.
Last but not least there was a team giving the fencing at the back of the barn a much-needed lick of paint to help maintain the fence and to keep it looking smart with all our up and coming events.
We were truly blown away by the amount the team got done in one day. The transformation in all of these areas would have taken weeks for us to complete at the farm and allows us to continue developing further and planning the next project.
