Its been a busy couple of months at the farm with everything really growing and fruit and veg starting to be harvested from the vegetable beds and poly tunnels. Last week we were joined by our good friends from Lex Auto Lease again for a couple of days volunteering at the farm. The vegetable beds benefited from some weeding from the team so that new seeds can be sown and existing vegetables can continue to thrive.
The next huge make over was for the field shelter which was looking in a very sorry state after this very wet winter! The team working on the shelter broke the record set by any volunteering group for staying the longest and left at 10.30pm! I think you will agree that the new shelter looks amazing and the sheep have certainly been putting it to good use already!
One of the log stores is now fully stocked again as the team battled the heat to chop and split some pretty huge logs!
Finally the last gift from the Lex Auto Lease was a brand new wedding arch by the side of the tipi to be used for the wedding blessings held at the farm. It looks really fantastic and we can wait to see it all dressed up for our wedding open day on 30th June/ 1st July.
We would like to thank all of the teams who came to the farm over the two days and worked their magic at the farm. These were some really huge jobs off our to do list and is a huge help. We are very lucky to have such fantastic supporters of the farm who come and give their time and brave all of the elements to help us get jobs done!
Don’t forget to keep an eye on our twitter and facebook page to keep up to date with what happens at the farm and to see what we have been getting up to during the week!
