Farming In February!

We are already flying into February and we have lots to show you! To begin we are going over to Community Gardening Services (CGS) who are based in Chelmsley Wood. They offer a variety of gardening/ landscaping services and recently tackled this overgrown garden! Check out the before and after! January Blues? Not here!

Hello everyone and welcome to 2016! As always there is lots to show you! To begin here are some fantastic sun rises/ sun sets at the farm which have taken place over the past week. Cheese the cat has been up to his usual naughty antics! He managed to jump up onto Jimbo and proceeded to fall asleep! Jimbo must be a comfy cushion (but not a very clean one!). November at the farm

We missed an October blog! Woops! As always another busy month at the farm has come and gone in the blink of an eye! The wood work groups have been busy making also sorts of spooky props ready for the Family Care Trust Halloween ball which was held on 31st October. I think you will all agree that they made a fabulous job of setting the stage for the night! The barn has looked very haunted with all these grave stones! Autumn Bliss

September is here and with that it brings a new batch of new jobs to do at the farm! Top of that list is apple juicing! We are fortunate enough to have a very productive orchard at the farm which produces a mass of fruit including apples, pears, plums and damsons! Down in the vegetable beds we also have plenty of berries to turn into jams! As there is a lot of work taking place on Berry Hall Lane at the moment we are postponing our open day until 27th and 28th November 2015. We will combine our open day…

Action Filled August

We always start most of our blogs telling you how busy the past month has been but August has been spectacularly busy! The gardening teams have all been out keeping on top of local residents grass and hedges. The landscaping team over at CGS in Chelmsley wood have also been doing some pretty impressive garden makeovers as you can see below... N Power have come back to the farm again and helped to finish off the beach garden, some pruning around the chicken area and some fencing around the boundary of the farm. A Pizza Oven!

Check out our new amazing pizza oven outside Berry's Cafe! A massive thank you to DHL for fundraising a huge amount for the oven and to Land Rover for building the base and fencing around it! The project workers are really excited to use it! We will be looking to build a BBQ next to it so that the decking facilities can be used for events in the future as well as just the Cafe! Thank you once again to DHL and Land Rover. We are always overwhelmed by the support you give to the farm! Lets hope the weather…

Vodafone at the farm

Two weeks ago a group of 25 employees from Vodafone came to the farm to once again generously give their time to help develop and complete some projects at the farm. The beach garden, decking, and some new staging for outside the green house were all on the agenda with everyone splitting into three teams. The weather was incredibly hot which made the tasks even more challenging! IMI come to the farm in force!

120 IMI employees made their way to the farm last week for three hours carrying out various make overs all over the farm. There was plenty of painting, demolishing, digging, bashing, pruning and drilling take place! What a fabulous transformation all of the teams made in their own areas, here are a few pictures to show all the hard work that took place!
