Farming and fundraising with friends

October has been an incredible month at the farm where we have been joined by so many people lending us a helping hand. It started when we were joined by Wallace Robinson & Morgan solicitors who came and gave us a hand harvesting loads of produce from the vegetable beds as well as log splitting and weeding the vegetable beds. We are still in complete shock at the size of the parsnips which appeared ha ha! Bees, BBQs and Butterflies

What a scorcher July has been! It has been another busy month at the farm with lots of weddings taking place in the tipi! The bees have finally arrived and are settling in well. They have already been busy collecting nectar from the vegetable beds and we are all looking forward to trying some of their honey next year! We have welcomed some new additions to the farm today who are yet to be named. As most of you know we always end up giving them very unique names and we are sure pulling their names out of the hat…

August Already!

Our good friends from National Grid came to help us out at the farm again last week! They made us a new bench for the sea-side garden and helped us carry on with the log splitting. The team of 15 worked relentlessly through the day and considering it was the hottest day of the year so far with temperatures reaching 30 degrees we would like to give them an extra special thank you! Bursting Vege Beds

The vegetable beds are bursting with produce this time of year and the team have a busy time keeping naughty pigeons and bugs from eating all their hard work! Red currants (above) and raspberry (below) will all head into Berrys Cafe and be made into yummy jam! The sprouts and broccoli are looking fantastic . We have almost eaten all of the broccoli! Update time!

Wow time soon disappears and we haven't updated anyone for a couple of weeks on what has been happening at the farm sorry! The weather has made a dramatic difference and has given everything a kick-start in its preparations for spring! The horses have started to lose their winter coats and the green house is filling up with lots of plants and vegetable seedlings. Quiet time…

Well compared to shovelling all the sand last week, this week has been a little quieter on the farm. The sand is in the arena and our new motto has been roll roll roll! We will hopefully be getting the rubber to go on top as soon as possible and we will soon be able to use the arena as much as possible! There is some exciting news in the horse care, with a new addition arriving on Monday!
