Everest in 12 hours

As part of the 25th Anniversary celebrations for the Family Care Trust we set ourselves the challenge of trying to climb Mount Everest in a day on the climbing wall at Flash Climbing Centre in Solihull. This requires us to climb 29,035 feet in 12 hours! It was a huge challenge but as always the project workers, staff and supporters of Newlands Bishop Farm rose to the challenge! Summer Colour

The farm is really springing into life and there are wonderful colours all over the gardens! The hanging baskets created by the horticulture team look wonderful and are still available to purchase outside the front of Berrys cafe. All the hanging baskets at the farm have been created with lots of care by the project workers in the horticulture team. Every couple of months the farm runs a craft club where project workers ca attend to help make things for us to sell on our sales days. Enjoying the warmer weather

The dry warmer weather has been fantastic at the farm and all of the animals and plants have been enjoying the recent sunshine. We have all taken the opportunity of the dry weather to do some repairs. The beach garden has now got a new walk way and a new gate is going into the horse field. The farm has had an exciting new addition over winter which we cant wait to share with you once its completed! Cadent came and conquered

Over the past couple of weeks we have been joined by some fantastic employees from Cadent who have totally transformed the far end of the farm! Cadent who look after gas pipes all of the UK bought all their skills, man power and machines to achieve something truly amazing! Lloyds lend a hand

Last week we had a huge team (over 100 people!) come from Lloyds to come and tackle some projects at the farm with us. By the end of the day it looked like a fairy godmother had come and waved a magic wand around the farm! The groups split into several teams tackling different projects around the farm. Three of the teams headed to the winter field where the horses and sheep will be throughout the winter. New Recruits

Once again we have had another busy and rather hot few weeks at the farm! The warm weather has certainly been testing and we have now become very skilled at finding shady areas to carry on working in! A big surprise from Eversfield School

This blog is to say a huge thank you to all the students, teachers and parents at Eversfield School who chose the farm as their charity for the year. The students have been taking part in a huge amount of activities to raise money as well as regularly coming down and visiting us at the farm to see what we get up to on a day-to-day basis. Beast from the east wont stop Xoserve

Last Tuesday and Wednesday we were joined at the farm by a team from Xoserve who came to put up our new tipi fencing, help us with log splitting and start the new compost bays. This was the beginning of the 'beast from the east' and what started as a flutter of snow quickly turned into making this a very challenging couple of days for the teams! Winter Wonderland

All the snow certainly seemed to bring Christmas in with a bang! The pregnant ewes were top of our list for food and water and they were pretty keen to be fed! The woodland is continuing through its re-generation process and it is really starting to take shape! We also have some fantastic native plants to put in the under growth which will encourage more wildlife. Christmas Sales Day! 1/12/17 11-3pm (Blog)

Christmas sales day is this week and we have lots of lovely treats for you to purchase ready for Christmas! We have heaps of homemade jams, chutneys and apple juice for you to browse as well as some woodwork crafts and calendars.
