Wood Work

In our woodwork barn the project workers help to create a variety of items in their sessions including planters, benches and animal hutches to name a few. These are then sold in our honesty shop or sold to customers who have placed an order with us for something unique. As well as creating items, project workers also get involved in performing maintenance tasks around the farm, and helping to build new projects such as our new woodland cover.

When building new items and tackling new projects everyone gets the opportunity to use a variety of tools such as hammers, saws, drills, routers, and jigsaws under the guidance of our wood work staff. Work based learning provides a fantastic opportunity to learn hands on practical skills which provide a huge sense of fulfilment and build self confidence.

The skills learnt in the barn are invaluable and can be transferred into a wide variety of other areas when working on the farm and at home. The animals at the farm love to break fencing! The wood work team also take regular trips out to get to new materials or to go to the Family Care Trusts Dementia Day Centre/ Supported Living scheme to perform maintenance tasks.

    Hi,

I heard that you do amazing wood work projects here and I wandered if you might be able to help with centre pieces for my wedding. My fiancé absolutely loves wood and would like wooden centre pieces if possible and anything else like signs etc. would much rather buy from you than anywhere else so would be great if we can!
